The Cornwall and Area Watershed Group is hosting a Bass Fishing Derby Fundraiser! Join in for some friendly competition and a chance to win a prize for the biggest catch of the night. The cost to register is $15. All proceeds will go towards stewardship of the North River.
This year we are excited to be using a service called FishDonkey to run the tournament. All registration and payment must be completed using the FishDonkey app. Additionally, the app will be used to photo-document fish and to generate live leaderboards that will update throughout the event as fish are submitted.
Enter in either the Adult (ages 17+) or Teen (ages 12-16) division. We recommend you register in advance to save time on the night of the derby.
To register:
On our tournament page, you will find derby rules, registration, payment, prize details, boundary maps, and more. Please take some time to familiarize yourself with the app before heading out. FishDonkey is simple to use, but your first time logging will take a few minutes. We understand not everybody is tech savvy - please reach out to irenemacaulay@cawgpei.com if you would like some help registering.
Please note FishDonkey does not allow youth under 18 to use their app; however, youth can register under their guardian's name.
Canada Day: Stop by, say hello, and celebrate Canada with the Cornwall and Area Watershed Group! Join us at the Miltonvale Park and Town of Cornwall Canada Day events. This year, we will be set up with a Watershed Information Booth. To mark the occasion, we will be giving away White Spruce and White Pine trees to anyone who visits our table (with a limit of one tree per household). We will be set up at Cornwall Town Hall and Miltonvale Community Park. Hope to see you there!
Tour of the Naturalization Gallery: Have you ever toured the Naturalization Gallery at the Terry Fox Sports Centre in Cornwall? Join us as we guide you through the trail, highlighting the Wabanaki-Acadian Forest, Circle of Peace, and Memorial Grove. Saturday, August 2nd from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm at the Naturalization Gallery (Dream Park parking lot).
